Contact with the road, potholes, chemicals, heat buildup and debris can take a toll on your tires. There’s never a good time to get a flat tire but finding the right automotive tire repair shop can reduce the amount of time you spend off the road.
Bauer Built offers comprehensive tire repair services at several of our locations across the Midwest. We will assess the best type of tire repair based on the location of the puncture and the extent of the damage. Our expert tire techs strive to ensure our work meets internal and industry standards and exceeds your expectations.
Our expert technicians adhere to the Rubber Manufacturers Association (RMA) standards to meet the highest quality standards. The RMA process dictates our inspection and repair processes to provide you with long-lasting tire repairs.
Those regulations include selecting the right tire based on your vehicle, tire mixing and monitoring tire load and speed ratings.
Per RMA standards, we repair tire punctures:
Each tire repair begins with removing your tire from the rim to allow for a complete visual inspection to determine if the damage can be fixed. Our tire technicians look for signs of punctures, tears, cracking, tread separation, sidewall damage and internal structural issues.
Once the puncture is located, a patch is applied to the inside of your tire to create a permanent seal. Tire patching allows us to fix the puncture and any internal damage sustained upon impact. This type of tire repair provides a long-term air-tight seal.
Tire plugs provide a temporary quick fix that allows you to get to a tire repair shop for a more thorough restoration. A rubber plug is inserted into the puncture from the outside of your tire to seal the hole. Tire plugging can be done without removing your tire from the rim.
Reinforcing your tire’s sidewall helps maintain structural integrity after sustaining damage. We can apply sidewall inserts and patches to reinforce or tire repairs and sustain the longevity of your tire’s operational expectancy.
